Business Finance Learning Program
Most small business owners didn't study finance. That's perfectly fine. But when cash flow gets tight or you're trying to figure out if expansion makes sense, guessing isn't really an option anymore. Our program takes the confusion out of business finances and gives you practical tools you'll actually use.

We built this curriculum by talking to actual business owners about what they wish they'd known earlier. Not abstract theory. Just the financial fundamentals that help you make better decisions, whether you're reviewing contracts or planning for next quarter.
Sessions start in September 2025 with flexible scheduling. Most participants spend about six months working through the material at their own pace.
Reading Financial Statements
Balance sheets and P&L reports stop being mysterious documents. You'll know what numbers matter and what they're telling you about your business health.
Cash Flow Management
Understanding why profitable businesses can still run out of money. Learn to forecast cash needs and avoid those awkward conversations with suppliers.
Pricing Strategy
Moving beyond "what competitors charge" to actually understanding your costs, margins, and what pricing makes sense for your specific situation.
Investment Decisions
How to evaluate whether new equipment, hiring, or expansion is worth it. Simple frameworks that help you think through major financial choices.
Learn From People Who've Been There
Our instructors aren't just teaching theory. Kellan spent fifteen years working with family businesses across regional Australia. Philippa helped restructure finances for manufacturing companies during the 2020 disruptions. Siobhan built her own retail chain from scratch before selling it in 2023. They understand the real challenges because they've faced them.
Kellan Thorpe
Business Finance Advisor
Worked with over 200 small businesses in regional NSW. Kellan knows what it's like when your accountant uses words you don't understand and you're too embarrassed to ask. He explains things clearly without making anyone feel foolish.
Philippa Rowntree
Cash Flow Specialist
Spent twelve years in corporate finance before moving to consulting. Philippa helps translate complex financial concepts into practical steps. Her case studies come from actual businesses she's worked with.
Siobhan Varga
Former Business Owner
Built a successful retail operation over eight years before exiting in 2023. Siobhan knows what it's like to make payroll when cash is tight and how to read warning signs before they become crises.
How The Program Actually Works
We designed this to fit around running a business, not the other way around. You'll move through four main phases, with support available when you need it. Most people complete the program in six to nine months, but you can take longer if that works better for your schedule.
Understanding Your Numbers
First two months focus on getting comfortable with financial statements. You'll bring your own business numbers and learn what they're actually telling you. By the end, you'll understand your current financial position without needing an interpreter.
Making Better Decisions
Months three and four get practical. You'll work on actual scenarios from your business. Pricing decisions, investment choices, cost control. Real situations where better financial understanding makes a difference.
Looking Forward
In month five, you'll build forecasting skills. Not complicated models, just useful projections that help you plan ahead. Understanding seasonal patterns, planning for growth, or preparing for slower periods.
Building Systems
Final phase helps you create ongoing financial practices that work for your business. Monthly reviews, quarterly planning, annual assessments. Building habits that stick after the program ends.
